2. Revisiting Glory Days

Another week has gone by with another reasonably good section to the Gail Kim vs Tessa Blanchard rivalry. The inaugural Knockouts Champion claimed that the bar was set immensely low in her earlier career (a fair point), and so she wants to relive her glory days now that women’s wrestling is, for the most part, getting the respect it deserves. Furthermore, Tessa stated that Gail was a legend in the era of bra and panties matches. A class promo from Blanchard here.

It may not seem like that big of a deal, but this segment was exceptional. Having Gail openly say that there wasn’t much respect for the female talent when she was rising through the ranks is a fantastic way to build towards her match with Tessa. There wasn’t any doubt that the pair’s match would be a good one and with a build like it’s already had, it just keeps getting more and more exciting.

No matter who comes out victorious in that match, it’ll have all been worthwhile. If Gail wins, a successful comeback. If Tessa wins, a huge win for The Queen of the Carolinas. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved in all honesty.
