5. Roxanne Tries To Hold It Together

Lola Vice has the potential to be a pretty big star in WWE, and she is going to have a learning curve as she adapts to the main roster. But Monday night was not the kind of singles match debut she wanted.

Vice tangled with Roxanne Perez in a “tale of two halves” match, with the first half being a messy, clumsy affair as the two women struggled to get on the same proverbial page. They had several miscommunications in a short span in the early going, but they covered decently with headlocks. Perez seemed to grab one at one point just to slow things down a bit and allow for a reset.

Things turned upward after they tumbled to the outside while Lola worked a sleeper on Roxanne. Back inside, Vice’s rapid-fire kicks and hip attacks got her a near-fall, but Perez came back with a double-jump moonsault and crossface. The finishing sequence, which saw Vice hit a spin kick and then catch a charging Perez with her MIA spinning backfist, was strong.

Overall, this could go either way with how you feel about it. Vice deserves credit for pushing through the early hiccups, and it shouldn’t be held against her. It’s just unfortunate that there were several missteps in a short span. Looking forward to seeing how her next outing fares.
