5 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (29 July - Results & Review)

2. Breakker, Zayn Get Back On Track

Sami Zayn and Bron Breakker have had a pretty decent feud this summer, with the Raw rookie developing nicely as an athletic freak on the cusp of breaking out.

Monday, Bron delivered a solid pre-recorded promo discussing his loss to Sami for the Intercontinental Championship at Money in the Bank. He noted that he didn’t take Zayn seriously enough and fought with his hands behind his back – a rookie mistake he won’t repeat at SummerSlam.

Breakker then tied in Sami’s budding comedy career, observing that Zayn is preparing for life after losing the IC title and when he’s finished with WWE, indicating that Sami has one foot out the door and has accepted losing to Bron.

That, combined with Breakker’s repeated attacks, seemed to give a bit more of a sense of inevitability for Saturday… which Sami then dispelled by anticipating Bron’s sneak attack after Zayn beat Dominik Mysterio and sending the rookie packing. There’s every reason to believe Sami is going to lose a hard-fought match at SummerSlam, but Zayn has made a career out of overcoming the odds, so who knows?

Good stuff here from Breakker, who is coming into his own more and more.
