5 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Saturday Night's Main Event (24 May - Results & Review)

3. The Anti-Pop Champ

WWE Saturday Night's Main Event Zelina Vega

Two years ago, Zelina Vega soaked in deafening cheers as she entered the ring at Backlash in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was a high point for the pint-sized wrestler.

Fast-forward to 2025, and Vega has reached another high point as the Women’s United States Champion. The only problem: Zelina is walking out to the ring to silence. If the “Austin Pop” is the definition of a deafening eruption from the crowd, the “Vega Anti-Pop” is the antithesis.

Vega defended her US title against Chelsea Green, who notably received a pretty good reaction from the very vocal audience, while Zelina walked out to polite applause. The match itself was a disappointing five-minute affair that saw them struggle at several points and Vega botch a 619 near the finish. Zelina picked up the win with a Code Red from the top turnbuckle, which left Chelsea with a bloody nose somehow.

As a result, Zelina’s heatless title reign continues on the heels of a bad match that laid bare the difference in crowd investment from the entrances alone. WWE needs to either actually try with her, or they need to get the title off Vega soon.
