5 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (April 5 - Results & Review)

2. Better Tag Than Anything Last Week!

Last week, WWE put on three shockingly weak tag-team bouts that failed to get anyone excited about the division. Tag wrestling is fab, but that trio of matches flopped. The good news? New Catch Republic and the wonderfully-named A-Town Down Under were here to pull the nose up for WWE's doubles division.

Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate are already emerging as one of the best duos around, and this guy has always championed the thought of creative doing more with Austin Theory and Grayson Waller before the inevitable Theory face turn. It was a pleasant surprise to see what all four produced on Friday night.

The quartet worked hard from the off, and the combo of teams gave everything a fresh feel. Post-match, Judgment Day arrived to waste their tag title rivals. That made sense, and was an easy way to get the faction on the show without endless backstage skits for the sake of it.

Go out of your way to take a gander at this tidy tag.
