5 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 3)

3. Cold Killer Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar is at his best when he's intimidating the living f*ck out of everyone. He and Sami Zayn, who proved to be great foil for the comeback man, kicked off SmackDown with a fine face-to-face bit. It was a nice change of pace to have their dominant anti-hero meets cowardly heel dynamic at the top of the broadcast.

Very few wrestlers have the ability to look foolish without losing all of their credibility with the audience, but Sami nails that role. He's a real credit to SmackDown every single week, regardless of what he's doing, and this was yet more evidence of his importance.

Even Lesnar seemed to be having a good time out there.

The way Brock goes from laughing and joking to super-serious at the flick of a switch is sensational. Like Zayn with the delusional/cowardly traits, nobody does menace better in WWE than Lesnar. This was a fine way to open the night.
