5 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 3)

SmackDown's current tag division is a little thin on the ground.

The Viking Raiders are a joke, Los Lotharios are just getting started, Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs aren't even a full-time team (Shin is Intercontinental Champion) and the Sheamus/Ridge Holland combo is in its infancy too. That left Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston as the only real challengers for The Usos.

It's hardly ideal that these two squads are at loggerheads again, especially when Woods just won King Of The Ring, but Kofi Kingston's comeback worked well on this week's show. He got a decent pop from the live crowd, and then New Day got to stand tall over the reigning champs.

That, rather conveniently, helped sell the idea that Roman Reigns' empire is crumbling around him. Hopefully, that's only temporary - Woods/Kofi don't need the tag straps again any time soon, and The Usos are fine champions anyway. Now, if only WWE could prep another babyface team to challenge during WrestleMania season.
