5 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Feb 10)

2. Some Tension, But Still Pals!

Sami Zayn Jey Uso

WWE couldn't get through the night without this short skit.

Booking Sami and Jey to come face-to-face was another correct call from creative. They were nose-to-nose for the first time Royal Rumble, and there was obvious tension between them. Following a brief exchange, Jey told Zayn to stay away before ending with a fist bump.

As aforementioned, the kind of depth WWE has heaped on these guys is exactly what's needed elsewhere in some of the other stories going on. This Bloodline business has set the bar for all subsequent dramas, and it's important the writers match that from now on where they can (this is especially true for the top feuds).

In time, Sami fist-bumping with Jey will become another iconic image for this saga. They're almost-certainly going to be on opposite sides again come WrestleMania, so this came across as a mutual admission of wars to come. It was powerful television.
