5 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Jan 1)

Man, KO and Roman Reigns have covered a lot of ground in a relatively short space of time.

Their rivalry over the Universal Title has had TLC matches, Steel Cage wars and now spectacular big bumps on SmackDown. Everything they're doing is working, and this was no exception. Seeing Owens get chucked off the staging through those tables was an awesome way to end the show on Friday.

The set piece put forward his brave attempt to battle against the odds, and it also displayed how far Reigns is willing to go to remain on top. Add to that Jey's own willingness to do Roman's bidding and you have a cracking story.

Side note: Owens will have to get the upper hand on Roman's squad at some point. He did beat Jey Uso here, but then got his ass kicked again. If WWE want to squeeze another bout from these guys at Royal Rumble, then they're gonna' have to let Reigns show some actual weakness. Otherwise, KO's title threat won't be believable in the slightest.
