5 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (July 8)

Ups...

5. Benefit Of The Doubt Part II

Mace Mansoor Maximum Male Models

Boy, this might not be a popular choice for the first 'Up'.

Stick with it though, because WWE's Maximum Male Models definitely do deserve a chance to win everyone around and establish themselves as a fine midcard act. Is it the kind of thing that's going to launch Mace or Mansoor (f*ck typing those accent-heavy names all the time) to the top of cards? No, but it's not supposed to.

This gimmick is designed to tout in-your-face narcissism and get the pair on TV regularly. Besides, Friday's latest chapter gave Max Dupri the floor to note that MMM will be recruiting more members soon. That's fine, because they'll probably need an enforcer to watch their backs and cheat during matches.

No, nothing truly special happened here, but WWE continued "titillating the juices of your guilty pleasures" (yes, yes that is the catchphrase they're going with) and established that Dupri wants more Models under his banner.

Job done. Now, stick 'em in a squash next week for maximum impact. So to speak.
