5 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night’s WWE Raw (Dec 8th)

2. No "Person In Power" Storyline

The best thing during the whole show may have been the lack of an authority figure that was in charge of the show. Actor Seth Green was there as the host of the Slammys although it was never mentioned that he was the one that booked the matches. We actually didn't find out who was in charge. That meant we didn't have to see terribly acted backstage segments or moments where an authority figure wastes our time by doing a 20 minute promo in the ring setting up matches for later in the show. What WWE needs to do is just proceed with the idea that a matchmaker isn't necessary. Just mention it when you need to. Say the "Board of Directors" ordered something to happen. We don't need authority figure storylines all the time. They are boring. As mentioned, Chris Jericho will be in charge of next week's Raw. That's not a bad idea. He's likable, plus he's one of the best talkers in the history of the business. He will do well in the role. Speaking of somebody in power, welcome back to People Power man John Laurinaitis. Who missed him? Probably not a lot of people.
