5 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dark (May 26)

3. Wardlow vs. Mr. Grim

While not the beefiest big boy battle you'll ever see in your life, this match finishes as an Up because it allowed Wardlow to show range.

Recent squash outings have seen MJF's heavy smash smaller men around to greater effect. Here, he met the 280lb Mr. Grim and showed he can abuse a fellow beef-slapper too.

Wardlow answered any questions by picking Grim up and dropping him with a Powerslam at the bell, then further highlighted his strength by taking the heavier man off the second rope, holding him for a moment, and nailing a German Suplex. The finish was cool, too, as Wardlow pulled Grim off the top rope and into a knee strike, leading to the referee calling a knockout.

A post-match F10 was the exclamation point on this effective showcase.
