5 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dark (May 26)

2. Best Friends vs. Alan Angels and Shawn Dean

Upgraded enhancement duo Shawn Dean and Alan Angels provided fitting competition for Best Friends, who defeated Private Party to become Tag Team Championship number one contenders at Double Or Nothing.

This was relatively competitive, with Trent and Chuck Taylor in a similar situation to Hikaru Shida last week, as the new Women's Champion went back-and-forth ahead of her own title tilt. Calibre of opposition is what separates them. Angels and Dean are presented on a level above the average jobber. Though they were still felled quickly, recent outings justify their offensive period against AEW's top-ranked tag team.

Angels continued to show gumption by talking trash and slapping Trent in the face. He looked solid again, though the my turn/your turn layout gave way to Best Friends' signature spots, as the duo got their big hug before putting Angels away with Strong Zero. A good outing from all involved.
