5 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dark (May 26)

5. Colt Cabana vs. Lee Johnson

A similar situation to Daniels vs. Serpentico, here, as the match itself was okay but lacked anything to set it apart.

This was in line with recent Cabana singles contests. All smooth grappling peppered with slices of comedy and counters aplenty, it felt more like a workout than a clash. Johnson, though competitive in fits and starts, was more willing dance partner than professional combatant, and the repetitive layout makes this one to skip.

Cabana finished Johnson by making him tap to the Billy Goat's Curse, rather than hitting the Superman pin. A welcome slice of variety in an otherwise samey bout.
