5 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dark (Sep 22)

Downs...

6. Ricky Starks vs. Christopher Daniels

Ricky Starks
AEW

Given that Ricky Starks is a regular Dark highlight and his opponent isn't an enhancement talent, but a respected veteran and full-time AEW roster member, this should have been one of the night's biggest highlights. Sadly, it wasn't.

Starks vs. Daniels never got out of first gear. It was too one-paced to hold the attention for long, with the wrestlers working beneath even a house show clip. More than anything, it felt like an extended opening sequence and even Ricky's splashes of personality weren't enough to save it from being entirely skippable, with Starks winning via Spear.
