5 Ups & 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 10)

2. Miz/Morrison/Priest Saga Clicks

If you had been told that Miz and John Morrison would still be feuding with Damian Priest and it’s actually working, you wouldn’t believe it.

But the rivalry, which also includes undercurrents of Miz & Morrison on the outs, has clicked pretty decently, in large part due to the strength of JoMo’s immersion into his role, and Miz and Priest’s steadiness. On Monday, Damian and Morrison had a rematch with actual stakes: the winner would get to pick the stipulation for the Priest/Miz match at WrestleMania Backlash.

Once again, Miz cost Morrison a rollup that could have been a three-count, but the match itself was solid, with both men’s styles meshing well. They traded strikes and kicks, evading each other’s attacks as well. There were a couple of callbacks to last week’s match, which is always nice to see – rather than just a plug-and-play, there was a progression here.

In the end, Priest picked up the win and chose a lumberjack match as his stipulation. If and when Miz loses, he’ll likely take it out on Morrison, so get ready for that fun.
