5 Ups & 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 10)

2. Another WrestleMania Rematch

Oh look, wrestlers involved in a triple threat don’t like each other and are facing each other in pointless singles matches ad nauseum. Let’s tune in… said no one ever.

But WWE clearly thinks the way to sell a triple threat feud over the WWE Championship is to book the participants in singles matches with each other each week while the heel champion tries to strike deals with his opponents to beat the other wrestler up so they can have a one-on-one match for the title… because they’re idiots, apparently.

Monday’s match between Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley was fine as a match, but everyone was in countdown mode for when Braun Strowman would show up, and sure enough, he did, right after a Claymore to the champ (because showing your world champion hit with a finisher and saved via DQ is a great way to keep him strong).

Braun got to be the one to stand tall on Monday night, as WWE tells its stories almost the same way every time, just with the players and a few small details changed. It doesn’t make this writer any more interested in the title match than he was a few weeks ago. It just means we’ve already seen every permutation of this match beforehand, so yay.
