5 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (29 April - Results & Review)

3. Hell Of A Tag Title Match

WWE could not have signposted any more clearly that the World Tag Team Championship and the team holding the titles, Awesome Truth, are completely unimportant to Raw than how they were portrayed Monday night.

Awesome Truth’s tag title match against Alpha Academy was snakebitten from the start. The challengers didn’t get an entrance – which almost never happens for title matches – and then the match started (and presumably ring introductions took place) during the break. Only a small snippet of the match took place during the program, with the champs retaining in a heatless segment.

The champs could not have felt more superfluous to the show than they did. The only interesting development here was that with Otis and Akira Tozawa losing, they’re likely one step closer to Chad Gable jettisoning them as dead weight. Otherwise, this was an utter waste of time.
