5 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (Feb 6 - Results & Review)

DOWNS…

6. Rewriting History

WWE Jey Uso

When wrestlers constantly cut promos on live television, mistakes are bound to happen, so giving them a bit of leeway is important. Jey Uso, however, deserves to be flagged for his verbal miscue Monday night.

Maybe it was just a slip-up, but Uso delivered a line on Raw that completely flew in the face of WWE history. During his exchange with Gunther, Jey noted that he was part of the “first tag team to main event WrestleMania” (at WrestleMania 39 last year).

However, that would ignore the main event of the very first WrestleMania, which indeed was a tag match pitting Hulk Hogan and Mr. T against “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff.

Realistically, that shouldn’t be held against Jey harshly, but that’s a pretty notable gaffe, and it deserves a quick call-out.

Scott is a former journalist and longtime wrestling fan who was smart enough to abandon WCW during the Monday Night Wars the same time as the Radicalz. He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
