4. R-Truth Comedy Continues

WWE Raw JD McDonagh R-Truth

Last week, R-Truth was battered silly after being told he wasn’t in the Judgment Day.

Naturally, he showed up in the group’s clubhouse to celebrate being jumped into the gang, leaving the Judgment Day members to groan and lament their lot in life. They just can’t get rid of that wacky R-Truth. He’s just too slippery for them.

Later, Truth cost JD McDonagh his match against Miz when he gave away T-shirts and then handed JD his cut from all the sales. That distraction was enough for Miz to nail the Skull-Crushing Finale for the win, as all the bills went flying into the air. And thus, the lead heel stable on Raw once again was played for fools by a Mr. Magoo/Inspector Clouseau mashup.

Clearly, a good segment of fans enjoy the hijinks, but it’s understandable that many others are tiring of the antics. Worse, it really seems like this is leading to Awesome Truth – a horribly misremembered tag team – challenging for the Undisputed Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania XL.

The only thing that would make this interesting is to find out that Truth has been playing the Judgment Day and is pretending to be a dope. But then, it would mean the lead heel faction got played by a guy ostensibly acting like he has learning and cognition issues.

Scott is a former journalist and longtime wrestling fan who was smart enough to abandon WCW during the Monday Night Wars the same time as the Radicalz. He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
