5 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 10)

Sheamus Drew McIntyre

Here's something else that's hard to argue with.

WWE put Sheamus and Drew McIntyre inside a wrestling ring, gave them 10 good minutes (or therein thereabouts), cut the crap and let them smash the p*ss out of each other like real-life mates who love a wrestle should. It's almost impossible for this pair to disappoint.

There was a good Claymore Kick tease when Sheamus hit his Brogue instead too. That stole some thunder from the Los Angeles crowd, but deliberately so - then, when Drew did finally hit his Claymore, the place erupted. That's damn fine match formatting.

Matches like this one suit McIntyre perfectly. They're totally preferable to the incoming Happy Corbin/Madcap Moss sword-stealing piffle WWE has in mind as follow up. Those goofy stories don't play to the big Scot's strengths. Chopping the chest off his Celtic counterpart? That does.
