5 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 10)

2. Toni Storm’s Moment Doesn’t Hit

This was almost an 'Up'. Almost.

Sadly, Charlotte and Toni suffered due to some annoying botched spots that blighted their bout and stopped it from really ever getting going. Also, the disqualification finish somehow made Storm come across as even more of a loser than she had been when she was running face first into pies a few weeks back.

Keep in mind that WWE apparently want you to care about Toni's title chase. The real shame here is that Storm did show some decent fire at several points, particularly early on. All of that good sh*t was spoiled by the pie build and the ending. They combined to make this match an uphill struggle.

Now, there's no real lure. Flair has slapped Storm around in-ring, and only lost via DQ because she's a queen bitch who wanted to put her boot through Toni's chest when the babyface was helpless against the ring post. Would it have killed them to make this a few mins longer and give Storm some more hope spots?
