5 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022

3. Six-Man Tag All Action

We’ve already said our piece about the six-man tag being a waste of three champions and how this should have been a TV main event to set up a PPV bout, and how the finish was a huge missed opportunity to dent the Bloodline’s armor. But let’s take the time to praise the actual action in the ring.

All six men worked their butts off to put together an action-packed match that saw Roman Reigns take a Claymore from Drew McIntyre (that the cameras nearly missed) and both teams repeatedly kick out of each other’s finishers. The last five minutes were just a rapid-fire progression of hard-hitting moves from everyone as they battled inside and outside the ring. It was almost too quick to call and build up… to Roman spearing Riddle for the win.

The finish was deflating, but everything preceding it was solid. The pop for Randy Orton’s hot tag was off the charts, which still defies logic, but is fantastic to hear.
