The storyline heading into WrestleMania Backlash with Omos was that he was raw talent but needed that one ingredient to get him into gear. MVP as his manager was supposed to be that one ingredient.

So it made perfect sense that Omos toppled Bobby Lashley in a Mania rematch Sunday night, with a little help from MVP. During the match, the announcers pointed out a couple of instances where MVP’s advice helped the Nigerian Giant out of tough spots, including when Lashley locked in the Hurt Lock. MVP urged Omos to back into the corner and stay there, allowing the referee to break the hold, which he did.

Of course, MVP also paid physical dividends when he assaulted Lashley with his cane, which directly led to Omos hitting his chokebomb for the win. Just like that, MVP has proven his worth to Omos.
