5 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (Aug 16)

2. Lilly Is Still A Thing

When WWE left the Thunderdome, people speculated that a lot of the company’s silliest ideas and angles would have to be dropped simply because they wouldn’t work in front of a live audience.

Lilly was near the top of the list of things many felt had to go. She’d get savaged by fans. But Vince McMahon has now doubled-down, not only running the “winking doll” angle last week, but replaying it and then basing two backstage segments around it.

First, Eva Marie told Doudrop to go steal Lilly – though Alexa Bliss heard it and knew she was coming – and then Bliss warned Doudrop to not walk off with her… and she gave her back after staring at the doll. When she returned to Eva an hour later, Doudrop had a horrified blank stare on her face… until Eva Marie slapped her silly.

Needless to say, the fan reaction we could hear wasn’t exactly a rousing round of applause, and you’ve got to imagine 40,000 fans in Las Vegas aren’t going to be falling over each other to cheer it either.

One final question: Who’s the babyface in this feud?
