5 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (Jan 31)

6. Dominik’s Descent

The Miz Rey Mysterio

If you’re keeping score, Dominik Mysterio hasn’t won a singles match since May 2021. Along the way, he’s lost to both Usos, Sami Zayn, Austin Theory, Bobby Lashley and on Monday, the Miz.

Monday’s loss might have been even more embarrassing, as Miz used a heel tactic of pretending that Rey Mysterio had tripped him, getting Rey tossed from ringside, which distracted Dominik long enough for Miz to land a Skull-Crushing Finale for the win. The action beforehand wasn’t anything special, as it bears reminding that Dominik is still in the very early stages of his in-ring career.

But seeing the Mysterios have an angle teased in the lead-up to the Royal Rumble that was then abandoned, only for Dominik to get distracted and beaten with ease the next night, it just doesn’t feel like anything good is coming for him anytime soon.
