5 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (Jan 31)

5. A Super Missed Opportunity

One of the biggest problems with both Royal Rumble matches was the near-total lack of undercard storylines getting any attention.

But one item that did get played up well came when Nikki ASH – masquerading as a delusional superhero – attacked Mighty Molly on her way to the ring for the Rumble. Nikki eliminated Molly, and that was that.

Here’s the rub: Molly works for WWE as a producer. This could have – and should have – been easily followed up on Monday night, even if it was Nikki demolishing her in a backstage segment to really sell that she is the one true superhero of WWE.

Instead, nothing. They legit stumbled a**-backward into a perfect mini-angle and seemingly have decided to ignore it and move on, with Rhea Ripley dispatching with Nikki in a short, energetic match.

Again, this is the company that says they tell stories…
