5 Ups & 8 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Jan 8)

2. Another Week... (Part II)

Cody Tony Schiavone
AEW

... another bait and switch.

Last week saw Jon Moxley postpone his decision on joining the Inner Circle, claiming he wanted to give Chris Jericho a face-to-face answer on yesterday's show. This time, it was Cody, whose interview with Tony Schiavone was interrupted by Arn Anderson. The legend claimed MJF had no stroke to lay down stipulations for their pitched Revolution bout, then said they were still thinking about it, would talk it over next week, and get back to us.

Technically, AEW also did the thing with the promise that they'd celebrate the legends of Memphis wrestling, saving the bulk of that content for Dark.

Rather than delayed gratification, these feel like full-on WWE-style bait and switches. They have advertised these segments and decisions in advance only to pull the rug away when Dynamite hits the airwaves. It's cheap, it's unsatisfying, and it's a waste of time for disappointed viewers.
