Downs…

8. Owens Promo Falls Flat

You would think that after being involved in one of the biggest angles/moments of WrestleMania 38, Kevin Owens would have had something bigger on his plate for the post-Mania Raw – but you’d be wrong.

Owens walked out and actually admitted that likely made a mistake and underestimated “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, who proved that he’s still great. And he had to be great to beat someone as good as KO.

So far, so good.

But then they fell back on the old trope of Owens complaining that he was actually hurt, and he shouldn’t have even been at Mania, but he was there for the fans because they needed him. Due to that injury, the loss should be stricken from the record.

The generic heel excuse promo was then interrupted by a returning Elias in a ridiculous gimmick that we’ll get into later. Their back-and-forth banter was terrible, and it ended with KO just walking off.

All told, a horrible miscalculation and a completely lame segment.
