5 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Feb 1)

Ups…

5. You Broke My Heart

Sheamus Drew McIntyre

Although we all saw Sheamus turning on Drew McIntyre coming a mile away, the WWE Champion looked seriously wounded by the backstabbing.

In a backstage interview, Drew was clearly upset, asking Sheamus if he was willing to throw away 20 years of friendship for the title. He then ran through a couple of examples of their travels together before declaring, “So be it.” McIntyre then granted the Celtic Warrior a WWE Championship match.

Drew played it just about right, looking remorseful, yet resigned to the fact that the title changes a lot of things, including friendships. Hopefully they don’t go the route of McIntyre crying as he signs the contract or something like that. The mixture of hurt and disgust was just right.

Besides that, a match between these two should be a hard-hitting battle, so there’s always that too.
