5 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (June 27)

2. Guess Who’s Back?

Vince McMahon

Another week, another senseless appearance from the supposedly deposed head honcho of WWE, Vince McMahon.

Oh, wait, this is just the character Mr. McMahon? Sorry, totally different people. Our mistake.

That’s BS. Vince came out again for the third time in four televised programs since being forced to step down as chairman of the board/CEO of the company due to an ongoing investigation into allegations that he paid a former employee $3 million to keep quiet after he had an affair with her, as well as several other rumored NDAs.

McMahon strutted to the ring as announcers fawned over him and the cameras cut quickly to small pockets of fans cheering and bowing to him. He took about 10 seconds and introduced John Cena, and then left. That was it. It was just a reminder that Vince is still here, and he still runs the place, lack of title be damned.

And really, that’s damning enough to earn a big, fat “down” here.
