5 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (March 1)

Ups…

5. Cockroach? More Like Weasel

See, this is the type of heel champion the Miz should be, not altogether evading matches, but trying to manipulate people into aligning with him.

The opening segment of Raw was a solid one, with Drew McIntyre lamenting his loss at Elimination Chamber after emerging from the eponymous structure with his title, only to be beaten by Bobby Lashley and cashed in on by Miz. The new WWE Champion was in his glory, setting off a ton of pyro and then trying to convince Drew to beat up Lashley because he doesn’t deserve the first title shot.

MVP and Sheamus would have minor supporting roles in this segment, but it really was all about Miz throwing a Hail Mary to get out of his title match or at least soften up his challenger, and the former champ looking like a man possessed. Mission accomplished.
