5 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (May 3)

5. Rotten Tomatoes, Part 2

Someone on the crew of Raw has to know what rotten tomatoes look like, right?

For the second week in a row, wrestlers hurled tomatoes at each other, proclaiming that beautiful red globes were “rotten.” Now, we can somewhat overlook last week’s mistake, because it likely was a decision 90 minutes before air time to have a segment where New Day and Damian Priest would throw “rotten” tomatoes at Miz, John Morrison, Elias & Jaxson Ryker, so they just ran to the nearest grocery store and bought a bunch of tomatoes.

But anyone who’s been around WWE for more than a hot minute knows that Vince McMahon will beat a bad joke into the ground, so you knew this was going to come back again this week… and sure enough, Elias & Ryker had a bucket of “rotten” tomatoes to throw at New Day backstage.

Only, they missed and hit Randy Orton. However, once again these were beautiful, fresh, perfect tomatoes, which made it even worse when Jaxson smelled one and reacted like he was smelling month-old trash. Come on guys, can we at least try a little here?
