5 Ups 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Oct 19)

3. Perfectly Acceptable Wrestling

Sticking two former world champions who have excelled as tag team wrestlers in a singles match might seem a bit different, but Sheamus and Kofi Kingston delivered a perfectly serviceable match Monday night.

The two squared off in a one-on-one match for the first time in more than four-and-a-half years, and more than nine years on Raw. It was a good, competitive contest that saw Kofi catch Sheamus with a Trouble in Paradise after some back-and-forth action.

Not every match needs to have high stakes or a lot of backstory – though Sheamus and members of New Day certainly have some history. Sometimes just a good wrestling match is enough to warrant a thumbs-up.
