5. Lashley Still Booked For Title Match

WWE Elimination Chamber 2022 Bobby Lashley

“Card subject to change” is something we know all too well in the wrestling business, but WWE is taking it right up to the wire with Bobby Lashley.

At Elimination Chamber, Lashley was taken out of the eponymous match while still in his pod, meaning he never got into the bout to defend his WWE Championship, which Brock Lesnar won. The reported reason was that Bobby had an injured shoulder that likely needs surgery, which means four months off.

However, Lashley is still being advertised as facing Lesnar at a house show at Madison Square Garden this weekend despite not having “cleared concussion protocol,” as WWE is billing it. So either Lashley wasn’t as badly hurt as initially reported and is facing Brock, or WWE is keeping the smokescreen going as long as possible before officially pulling him.

If that’s the case, that’s pretty crappy to knowingly promote a match you know you can’t deliver and that you’ve hinted to fans that you can’t deliver. Just announce a new challenger and hype it. Maybe give the new challenger a TV win to build him up ever so slightly.

Weird.
