5 Ups & 9 Downs From WWE Raw (Fb 28)

3. Why We Can’t Have Nice Things

Put Tommaso Ciampa on the main roster, you say. He deserves the promotion, you say.

Monday night, Ciampa got his first singles match on Raw and managed to defeat Robert Roode… via rollup. Yep, two matches in a row, two rollup wins. Guess the brainpower figured little Tomasso from little ol’ NXT 2.0 couldn’t get one up on Raw superstar Roode, so he needed to “steal one” for his win.

Worse, WWE in its infinite wisdom decided to change Ciampa’s awesome theme song to some sh*tty generic rock crap, and then their social media team had the temerity to hype it repeatedly on Twitter, using fire emojis to describe it.

This just proves two things: 1) WWE is truly hellbent on rubbing out everything that was once great about NXT “1.0.” Pretty soon, “TakeOver” will be one of the banned terms announcers won’t be able to say anymore. And 2) WWE’s social media department is actively trolling its fans and trying to get ratioed, as if it’s good engagement. That, or they really just don’t like their fans.

Either way, Ciampa still was handled better than Karrion Kross, but it’s just insane to watch this company mess up fully formed, awesome performers.
