5 Ups & 9 Downs From WWE Raw (Feb. 22)

8. Second Verse, Same As The First

No, you weren’t experiencing déjà vu on Monday night, you actually were seeing the same match from two weeks ago when Damian Priest faced off against Angel Garza again.

Just like last time, Priest took out Garza in a match where the outcome never really was in doubt, though Angel got a lot more offense in on Monday night, putting Damian on his heels a couple of times, and even knocking him out of the ring with an aggressive clothesline. But then Garza decided to be an idiot and taunt Bad Bunny, inviting him into the ring, getting distracted for long enough for Priest to recover and take him out with a diving spin kick and his finisher to pick up the win.

But here’s the thing: There are plenty of wrestlers not doing anything right now who would be perfect cannon fodder right now. Just off the top, Humberto Carrillo, Erik, Titus O’Neil, Tucker, Drew Gulak and Riddick Moss are just hanging out in catering (or chasing the 24/7 Championship), so why run back the same match as two weeks ago? Shouldn’t we be advancing and progressing? Also, it’s not doing Garza any favors to get wiped out again.

Guess it’s expecting too much from WWE.
