5 Ups & 9 Downs From WWE Survivor Series 2021

1. Nonstop Action

Whatever you might think about the buildup to Survivor Series and fusing real-life with storylines, the women’s champion versus champion match was nothing short of incredible.

Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair had a PPV-opening match that was nonstop, bell-to-bell action, with both women tearing into each other with everything in their arsenals. They traded stiff strikes and kicks, applied vicious submissions, and stole each other’s signature moves. It had all the feel of two wrestlers who genuinely didn’t like each other, but it also was highly entertaining.

The finish saw Flair going for a rollup and trying to use the ropes, only for the referee to catch her, then Becky reversing to her own rollup and using the ropes, with the ref missing it. While it was somewhat disappointing to end a really good match like that that way, it still worked fine.
