DOWNS

1. Velveteen Dream Should Not Be On Television

I'm sorry I wasn't here last week to say it, but WWE's decision to bring back Velveteen Dream is beyond the pale. Worse still, their refusal to address this in media interviews shows a staggering contempt for their fans and the safe working practices they publically endorse.

For months now, there have been allegations from numerous different people, most corroborated with audio and video footage, that he has sent groomed minors and sent explicit photos of himself to underage fans. Not two months after wrestler Josh Fuller came forward with evidence of these allegations, he's back on the show, heading to TakeOver, and likely in line for yet another push.

To make one thing abundantly clear, Patrick Clark is innocent of all of this until he's proven guilty. But until such a time that any firm conclusions can be drawn, WWE should not have him anywhere near their shows. They refuse to answer questions about this on media calls, and those who've come forward with evidence say that nobody from the company has contacted them to look into it.

A man with multiple, repeated, accusations of grooming children should not be on TV while those accusations are still outstanding. No matter how talented he might be, or how little his employers care about the harm this might do.

The match was very good, not that it matters.
