That’s how far into Raw we got before the bell rang for the first match of the show.

And after waiting nearly a full hour for the first match of the night, we were treated to… Shane McMahon versus Lance Anoa’i. Neither man is a member of the Raw roster or even a fulltime wrestler. And then Drew McIntyre attacked Anoa’i before the bell to make it even easier for Shane to win the “match.”

This was unforgivable on every level. Fans were hot to open the show, cheering loudly for Kofi Kingston and Seth Rollins, but WWE managed to kill them off to the point where they were chanting “boring” during McMahon’s promo and “This is awful” throughout the match.

Not every episode can be wrestling-heavy, but to quote Arn Anderson, “It says marquee on the wrestling!” Going more than 50 minutes before the first bell is insane.
