5 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (May 30)
4. The Feud The Tag Division Needs
Turning heel was the best thing to ever happen to The Usos. While they've always been entertaining between the ropes, their bland babyface act had been stale for years, and their importance had dwindled by the time they arrived on SmackDown. Jimmy and Jey were going nowhere as good guys, but have been re-energised since turning, with their manic, intense promos setting them aside from the rest of the roster.
Last night saw The Usos hit the ring to boast their accomplishments, but they barely had a chance to get going before The New Day interrupted. Appearing for the first time since the Superstar Shake-Up, the popular trio worked the crowd, much to the champions' chagrin, before setting their sights on the SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
Xavier Woods revealed that Shane McMahon had granted them a title shot at Money In The Bank, thus laying the foundations for a feud that could conceivably last all summer. The Usos are on fire at the moment, and The New Day remain one of the company's most popular acts. The division's lack of depth makes pairing them up a logical choice, and if both teams are given solid material to work with, this could be the feud that finally elevates the tag scene above its current lowly status.
