5 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (May 30)

3. Building A Supporting Cast

The New Day are back on the scene, but Breezango's presence endures. Many thought that their sudden elevation was no more than a placeholder to keep the tag division ticking over during Kofi Kingston's injury rehabilitation, and while this could still be the case, Tyler Breeze and Fandango at least kept their spot this week, and continued to entertain.

The film noir-style "Fashion Files" segment wasn't as joke-filled as usual, and we really don't need to see 'Prince Pretty' dressed in drag anymore, but it was as weirdly enjoyable as ever, and realigned their goals away from the titles. Later, the rising duo hit the ring to take on The Colons, and while not exactly a knockdown match, it was perfectly enjoyable, with Breezango scoring a decent victory.

The real positive is that WWE are keeping the duo's momentum going outwith the championship picture. The tag division has been focused solely on the belt since last year's draft, with next to nothing going on outside the main feud. Hopefully this wasn't just a one off, because it's tough to draw attention to a division without a solid supporting cast, which is exactly what teams like Breezango and The Colons can be over the coming months.
