5 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Sept 27)

4. Way Better Than Last Week...

Natalya Bella Naomi

Last week, a scheduled tag team match featuring Natalya and Carmella teaming up against Nikki Bella and Naomi was cut short in the most ridiculous of ways. Natalya had Bella in the Sharpshooter, but Carmella pulled her out to administer a beating. That caused a DQ in less than a minute.

The rematch was better. That doesn't say much, so let me rephrase it - the rematch was good. The babyfaces opened strong, but the heels got the heat on Naomi. Needless to say, Natalya's offense looked better than Carmella's, but even more important than the action was the booking. Naomi eventually tagged Bella, who came in on the attack and nearly hit Carmella with a TKO. Carmella escaped the hold by raking Bella's eyes, then after some interference from Natalya, got the pin with a roll-up.

The blowoff match probably won't be anything special, but WWE's actually done a good job building up the Nikki Bella-Carmella feud. Simple, solid, bad-guy-screwing-over-the-good-guy action usually works, and this was no exception.
