5 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night's NXT (Sep 23)
O'Reilly and LeRae are going to TakeOver.
Before this week's episode of NXT, we remarkably didn't know who the Number #1 Contenders were for any of the brand's four illustrious belts.
However, by the time the two hour rocket-powered show had reached its end, three new challengers were established and a further pair of contenders look set to be decided in the very near future.
Yet, while most of the attention was rightly focused on who would be vying for the top prizes the developmental brand had to offer at the upcoming TakeOver event in - checks notes - a week-and-a-half's time, NXT still found time to light a couple of other fires which could potentially turn into a beautiful blaze in the future.
With TakeOver now on the horizon, though, and Triple H and co curiously deciding to label this edition of the show as 'NXT: NXT Takeoff to Takeover', did the black and yellow brand manage to take flight after a few weeks worth of knee-jerk booking decisions?
Well, yes... and no.
Either way, the Wednesday Night War wages on, so let's look at what absolutely worked and what most definitely did not during this week's NXT...
