5 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (28 Oct)

Ups...

5. Nia Jax Slow But Fierce

Whenever is appears that WWE are throwing their support behind a superstar based purely on massive size and power, fans find it difficult to contain themselves and not prophesy doom for their future. They're doing it with Braun Strowman, and they're likely going to do it with Nia Jax. Now, to be fair to the fans, they've been burnt before by the large n' slow variety of WWE superstar with whom Vince will never stop being obsessed. Stars like Great Khali, Snitsky, Lord Tensai and Vladimir Kozlov were all plastic bags of hot piss in the ring, and their quick relegation to comedy characters proves little else. While it's true that dance-offs and an RnB gimmick are probably in Strowman's future, people shouldn't be so quick to condemn Jax. First of all, her heritage means it's way more likely than not that WWE will stick with her (she's The Rock's cousin, if Corey Graves hasn't mentioned that enough), and second, she's way more charismatic than any of the dudes listed above. Her contorted expressions of brutal rage, and sinister smirks more than make up for her, admittedly, slightly slow and clumsy workrate. You can teach Jax to work better, but charisma is much harder to endow, and she has that in spades. Get on board.
