5 Ups And 2 Downs From WWE Cruiserweight Classic (July 27)
4. D-Bry Becomes A Homer
Throughout this tournament, the commentary of Mauro Ranallo and Daniel Bryan has been a major positive and a reminder of what announcers can sound like without Vince McMahon in their ears week in and week out.
But give it up to Bryan, who admittedly abandoned his responsibility to even-handedly call the match between (The) Brian Kendrick and Raul Mendoza, openly cheerleading for his longtime friend Kendrick. He flat-out said that if he could choose who he wants to win the tournament, it would be the former WWE tag team champion, who he wrestled against in both of their first match back in 1999.
After hearing Bryan geek out about various moves and wrestlers, it was fun to just hear him root for his buddy – while still managing to comment on the match itself.
