5 Ups And 3 Downs For This Week's NXT (Sept 2)

1. Jason Jordan And Chad Gable Are A Great Tag Team In The Making

Seeing the early stages of this Jordan/Gable tag team is one of the best things about NXT. In a year or two when they are the best team on WWE's main roster, people can point to matches like this one against Neville and Solomon Crowe as a point where they really started to gel together. The NXT creative team has tried to find something for Jordan that worked because he's a great athlete that just hasn't had an angle to help him get over. He's a very solid in-ring performer that is always in the right place at the right time. Now he's got this relationship with Gable where they are teaming up even though Jordan isn't a huge fan of Gable's over the top personality that includes a towel that says "Gable" on it. The Jordan/Gable win over Neville/Crowe was a pretty good match. It's not like Solomon Crowe is pushed that much or he has a lot of wins in his career, but Neville's a main roster guy. Much like with The Ascension earlier, it means a lot when NXT guys are being put over performers that are featured on the main roster. When Neville got the hot tag, it looked like his team would win. Instead, Jordan and Gable found a way to get the job done. Gable saved Jordan from being hit with the Red Arrow. Then Jordan used his power to catch Neville and toss him across the ring. Crowe tagged in, Jordan caught him and hit an amazing overhead suplex. That led to the finishing move where they do a back suplex into a neckbreaker. The Jordan/Gable team could definitely win this NXT Tag Team Tournament. It would be huge for them and they deserve it. This team could use a name, but it's clear they have all the tools to be very successful for WWE long term.
