5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Nov 11)
Why, Joe, Why?
After the shocking finish to last week's NXT Title match, the company wasted no time in addressing the fallout. The run-in by Corbin and subsequent heel turn by Samoa Joe has birthed two major feuds: Corbin vs Crews, and Joe vs Finn. Last night, both storylines established themselves with exciting displays of violence. Even more note-worthy than that, we have new NXT Tag Team champions in the form of Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder. In a battle between the two biggest throwback teams in WWE, Dawson & Wilder overcame the Vaudevillains in smart, strategic fashion, targeting limbs and subtly manipulating the referee in ways rarer seen in modern WWE wrestling. Elsewhere, Nia Jax continued her run of impressive squashes and beloved Bayley teamed with two glue-sniffing dinguses to take on Alexa Bliss and two other guys (I forget their names) and, once again, belt snatching ensued. Sigh. Despite that tired trope, it was good night for NXT, picking up a lot of momentum a mere month away from TakeOver London.
