5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (April 14)

1. The Vaudevillains vs. Goldust & Fandango Feels Like A Waste

Backstage, Goldust informed R-Truth that he was replacing him in their Tag-Team Tournament match against The Vaudevillains. Fandango turned out to be the replacement, much to the dismay of Truth. The resultant tag scrap was incredibly short, clocking in at just 2 minutes.

Clearly, Goldust and Fandango are not regular partners. By contrast, Simon Gotch and Aiden English are, so they should be booked to run rings round their opponents. There's no problem there, but the issue lies in a throwaway match that should have made The Vaudevillains look better.

Again, it's credit to SmackDown's overall quality that this is a negative. Gotch and English are accomplished workers, and they will be given longer matches going forward. There was nothing unmissable about this clash though, and that was the problem.
