5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night’s WWE SmackDown (Aug 27)

3. Sheamus Got A Quality Win Over Dean Ambrose

It wasn't clean, but it's nice to see Sheamus getting a win in a main event match against Dean Ambrose. They've had a few matches in the past and every time I've enjoyed it. This is a feud that could be great one day if they ever build it up as a personal rivalry. In their match, the Wyatt Family showed up to distract Ambrose just as he started his momentum and looked like he was going to get the win. When Ambrose was starting at the three Wyatt guys outside the ring, Sheamus capitalized with a Brogue Kick to win the match. Nobody touched Ambrose, yet they did enough just by being there. There are probably fans of Ambrose that are upset about it and I totally get that. It's just that right now the story is about making Ambrose look like a sympathetic figure along with Reigns. They'll get their wins a month or two just like they did at SummerSlam. For now, the goal is to build up the Wyatt Family a bit more. Sometimes distraction finishes are fine. This is one of those instances where it fit perfectly because of the new storyline they are trying to tell with the Wyatt Family. It also gave Sheamus a quality win, which is always a good thing for the guy holding the Money in the Bank briefcase.
